Anyone living in Brussels will have a memory of Cinquentenaire. To create the image I drew a black and white pencil drawing of the monument and then transferred it to a linolium block. From there I carved out the highlights with small tools allowing small details to come alive. Each piece is individually rolled with ink and printed on heavyweight multimedia paper so no two are the same. Limited run of this piece means that once they are gone, they are gone.
It's important to note that the hand-printing process involves applying ink to the carved block and transferring it onto the paper. The nature of this technique means that slight variations may occur. These variations can manifest as subtle differences in texture, ink density, and overall appearance between individual prints. It is precisely these variations that contribute to the charm and authenticity of each artwork.
Additionally, I want to acknowledge that the process of hand-printing with ink can sometimes lead to distinctive characteristics. These may appear as subtle nuances or markings, which can occur not only on the front but also on the back of the artwork. Please understand that these markings are an inherent part of the hand-printing process and should be seen as evidence of the artwork's authenticity and handmade nature. This uniqueness makes every artwork in this collection truly special and one-of-a-kind.
Add this hand made art piece to your home and always remember your time in Brussels.
